Context

Nspire Tours is a conceptual tour guide service that facilitates tours in the natural beauty of surprise destinations for visual artists and designers craving fresh inspiration. Away from the hustle and bustle of life, participants may enjoy the mood-lifting effects of nature while sightseeing and engaging in sustainable, nature-based creative workshops.

Tasked with building a brand to design for, I conducted market research to discover that surprise travel, ecotourism, and wellness tourism are expected to continue growing in the tourism industry. Combining those insights with my passion for creativity as a graphic designer, I created a brand that encourages creatives to seek inspiration where they may have never thought to.

Solution Pt. 1 — Brand design

Nspire Tours is represented by a brand design centred on its dynamic identity system, a nature compass rose logo of unlimited possibilities.

Nspire Tours is represented by a brand design centred on its dynamic identity system, a nature compass rose logo of unlimited possibilities.

The brand’s primary illustrated logo displays a nature compass rose constructed by sun rays and leaves. In its dynamic system, the logo may be adapted into an unlimited number of creative designs that abstractly reflect its surprise tour destinations’ natural views.

Solution Pt. 2 — Launch Campaign

Enter the N’Portal, a brand activation that stimulates the tours’ surprise travel and nature elements through a creative augmented reality experience.

Located along Downtown Toronto’s scenic waterfront, visitors can scan the QR code present at the activation to unlock a surprise AR nature scene on their phones. To boost the campaign’s reach, participants can share their AR moment on social media for the chance to win a free tour. The activation is promoted through out-of-home and social media ads.

Takeaways

I absolutely loved working on this project from start to finish, from conceptualizing the brand to assembling the printed brand book. It has strengthened my interest in the relationship between design and marketing, as one can inform the other throughout their development. Overall, I found it rewarding to see the brand I crafted come to life through the marketing.
